| « I Am Very Resourceful and Back From Japan, Too | Physical Therapy, Scolded, Cheap Healthcare: Life Isn't Easy in Korea, Which Is What Makes it So Delicious » |
Off to Japan for a few days for a visa run. Though my hotel has free high-speed internet jacks in each room, I'll be leaving the computer here, sleeping, reading, and taking photos. Don't know how much sight-seeing I'll do since the doctor told me to stay off my leg as much as possible.
My brother was stationed in Japan for a year. I never made it out there while he was there. Now he's in Iraq, I'm in Korea, and my poor mother is the one in the family with the kids who run off to foreign countries (OK, so my brother didn't have much choice, but he did ask to be stationed in Japan). You'd think that with a half dozen adult cousins, someone else would have wanderlust, but nope.
Went to physical therapy this morning, it cost 9,000 won. So that 40,000 won I posted about Saturday included the X-rays, prescription, and physical therapy. Cute Tech Guy wasn't there, and some sort of angry-looking woman helped me.
Got some Diet Coke at the corner store. Owner told me my Korean was good. Asked if I was a teacher. Sometimes you're just not in the mood to be a teacher here, so I pulled a Michael, lied, and said I was a taekwondo student. He was pleased. "Oh, American woman practicing taekwondo? Good, good! And Korean, good!"
My life is weird.
