Master wasn't in class tonight, he was at a party if I understood the boys?
At any rate, I was about to be cranky because the teenagers act crazy when Master's not around, but then Tall New Guy showed up and since he's older than them, they stayed in line. Of course, we had more downtime than normal, but I loved it tonight.
TNG asked my age (he asks this every time he sees me). I said, "I don't know." It makes him crazy that I don't tell him, which adds amusement to my day. Darn Cocky piped up, "She's 27!" I growled and chased him around the studio. "Amanda! I sorry! I sorry!" He looked at TNG. "I don't know. She's 22." Then Grin's Brother said, "She's 31." I raised my eyebrow at him and everyone laughed.
Randomly Cocky told me his English name, which made me ask most of the boys their English names. Cocky is "Brad," Studious is "Eric." Grin doesn't have an English name; Grin's Brother is "Fred." TNG told me in Korean, "Scissors hands." Eventually I realized he was talking about Edward Scissorhands. I said, "Johnny Depp?"
"네! Johnny Depp! He is very handsome, yes?"
"Yes. So you, 'Johnny Depp?' Why?" Unlike Cocky, he understood I was teasing him.
Later, Tired Guy tried to claim he was Johnny Depp. TNG made him change it, so now he's Jim Carey.
I like my nicknames for the boys better than their English names. The boys said they were going to choose a Korean name for me. If they do, well, that should be interesting...
TNG asked if I had a boyfriend, I said no and asked if he had a girlfriend. Yes, she's his후배 (and I thought that wouldn't be a useful word) and lives near me.
Then he said that he, Heidi, The Girl Who Sometimes Comes That I Thought Might Be His Girlfriend (but isn't, she's a high school friend) and I should all go out together. I think it's a fabulous idea since we're all, you know, over 19 years old.
I asked all of the high school boys, none of them have girlfriends. They were all surprised that I said I wasn't dating because "I don't have time and I don't speak Korean." They thought I would just date foreigners. No, boys...
I also asked Grin about where he applied to University and what he wants to study. He wants to study taekwondo. That explains why he's been running the warmups lately. OK, maybe it doesn't, but it all makes sense in my head. I think that's so cool. I think he was a little surprised at how enthusiastic I was about it.
Cocky, Grin, Studious, Tired Guy and I went out for dinner and chatted a bit more. What amazed me is how much of their conversation I understood without trying. Also, I found out what they're saying during dinner. 잘 먹겠습니다 and 잘 먹었습니다. Studious made me believe that the former is said while you're eating and the latter when you're finished. I looked them up in a dictionary and they said the former means "I've had my fill, thank you," and the latter means "I've enjoyed my dinner very much, thank you."
At any rate, they'll go in my flash card rotation.
Because I haven't had any photos lately, here are some photos of Ghost, taken with my handphone. Poor 남동생 was sick as a dog tonight. He barely participated in class and during break he just leaned on me while I patted his back. He was a good sport though, and let me take his picture. My camera is set up to take six photos in a row, hence Studious playing soccer in the background.

I love that kid.
