Evicted, Homeless Update, Studying Korean

OK.

Went to the school today with Korean friend, big drama ensued. The only remaining coworker wanted us to leave. We refused to. Sort of Boss showed up. Still have not seen Boss (the one who hired me) since I gave her the note Friday saying I was going to be evicted.

Was told by Sort of Boss (not the woman who hired me, wasn't even involved in the school when hiring took place) that "we can't afford you."

He tried to fire me on the spot until I pointed out the 30 days notice clause in my contract and threatened to sue him. Then he promised that they'd hold my visa until I get a new job. He also promised that I'll get paid. I don't trust him but we'll see.

Main problem is that almost all public school jobs are filled already. May study Korean here formally (at a university) until the fall hiring season if the course is still open.

Not sure.

What pisses me off the most is that he will not apologize to me. He simply won't apologize. I guess he thinks he's saving face by refusing to apologize when he and Boss have left someone homeless, broken their contract numerous times, and tried to illegally fire them.

Jeez, Master apologizes to me when he can't be in class. Speaking of, I intend to go to class tomorrow night. I haven't been there in a week and it's nearly killing me. I have, however, been doing push-ups.

As a final note, I am nearly finished with 1B of my Sogang books. I picked up level 2A as a motivator. Go, go, Amanda!

have you checked www.daveseslcafe.com? I saw a few public school jobs advertised there. That sucks....all I can say is "good luck" and hopefully you will find something soon.

An American educator moves to Korea, presumably to teach English. Instead she discovers that learning Korean one taekwondo class at a time is a more captivating activity.
