"Amanda...Wait."

Scholar

Saturday night I met Scholar for the Seoul International Book Fair, a nice dinner, and some good conversation.

I learned some new words, a few phrases, and some Chinese roots.

Master

Tonight, after class, Master asked what I'd done this weekend. A few moments later he said something he's said to me at least 6 dozen times in different contexts.

"Amanda...wait."

It meant something else entirely this time.

Maybe I need to Post-It my apartment with that word.

Wait.

Oh, I meant that it would be hard for the students to break the flinching habit, not that you would ever get into the habit of hitting them! (That's what I get for trying to type at 3:00a, I guess!)

I suppose the obvious question, and the unanswerable one, is "Wait for what?" But just not rushing is smart, too =)

An American educator moves to Korea, presumably to teach English. Instead she discovers that learning Korean one taekwondo class at a time is a more captivating activity.
