Baskets, Car Shots, Inappropriate Shoes?

Basketball

Last week Good Man and I went to the school behind our house and shot baskets.

I hate basketball. I broke my glasses every single year when we had the "Basketball Unit" in PE class. But I know Good Man likes basketball, so I figured I'd go hang out with him.

I asked him how to shoot. He told me and I took a shot.

And I made it! In fact, I made three shots in a row. How in the world is that possible?

Today, when I dropped my students off to gym class, I noticed that they were playing...basketball. Our gym has the higher hoops, whereas the school playground has lower, kid-friendly hoops.

I decided that I was always willing to look stupid in front of my kids and I took a shot.

And!

I made it!

Oh man, my students think I am the coolest teacher ever now.

Car Shots

Chopsticks

Geeky Glasses

Good Man Borrows my Purple Mohair Hat

He Laughs at Me

"You Want? To Wear Chopsticks? Are you crazy?"

"Yeah! You really are crazy!"

Shoes

I am trying to decide if these are hooker shoes. (Specifically these shoes with this hemline/dress pattern.)

Good Man claims they're not. "Your gut wants to wear the shoes. But your personality—your brain—is thinking, 'what might other think?' You are so Korean! You are like my mother."

Maybe that's why Mother and I get along so well.

Later Good Man started laughing to himself. "I have a good idea. Wear red shoes. And go to [Brothel Taco Joint]. And ask waitress if you look like hooker or not. What a wonderful idea!"

Those shoes are NOT hooker shoes but they are sexy and look great with the dress. Wear them!

I like the dress pattern, and I like the shoes, but I don't think I like them together.

Is the dress black & white or a very dark green/blue? If you don't want to go with black shoes I would suggest either something "natural" looking for a more casual look, or a bright yellow or kelly green for a more modern vibe.

The shoes would look great with dark wash jeans or white/gray/silver jeans. Also black slacks. I think the cut is better for pants, overall. But my opinion might change with a look at the shoes from a different angle.

I really like the shoes and I also like them with that skirt. It funks it up a bit.

I hate always being safe where fashion is concerned!

Hey Gori, the dress is black/white. I would never ever ever wear yellow shoes because I hate yellow.

Everyone, thanks for the opinions. Let the voting continue...

I like the shoes as well as the pattern / cut of the dress. They seem to go together pretty well in my eyes, but if you had an accessory in the same (a similar?) color that might also help. Then again, I am by no means a fashion maven.

No way do they look hooker-ish!
Very cute combo but I agree that kelly green might totally rock the look but I really want the red shoes for myself.

brothel taco girls probably wouldn't wear them, too subtle.

They might be just a little bit hooker, but hey, what's wrong with hooker, anyway?

OK, I will be wearing the geek glasses AND the red chopsticks also seen in this post, so red will be subtly throughout the whole thing.

Seeny, not sure if you've ever posted before--thanks for stopping by.

Amanda Y, you can get the shoes at Payless. Why pay more? It's where the Taco Brothel girls go!

Hmmm, I'm looking at the picture at my work monitor, and the shoes look like a brighter red than they did on the laptop screen at home. If they look in person like they look on my monitor now (helpful, I know), then I think I can get behind the outfit. I'm still not a major fan of the cut of the shoes, but that's completely a personal taste thing.

And yay for Payless - I need to go there soon.

Gori, they're damn red.

I DO like Payless. I bought the greatest strappy sandals there years ago. After three years of service, I finally had to give them up. Damn, they were great date shoes.

Except for that Han River date where Good Man and I ended up walking something like 10km. Damn.

What is it about teachers and the chopstick do? I used to wear that one with pencils when the AC broke at our school.

And those are NOT hooker shoes. Very nice.

I know everyone has already put in their opinion, but they most certainly not hooker shoes. They are adorable, vintage inspired t-strap heels in a lovely color. Red shoes are <3

PS: Also, they good with the skirt/dress. Seriously, red/black/cream: perfect. The pattern on the skirt is too fancy for something like kelly green or yellow. If like green, so with a darker shade of it, it looks more sophisticated.

Sorry, these are just my opinions and tastes. ^^; Love your blog, by the way! I've been reading it for a long time but never comment. You reeled me in with fashion.
