Make that 21 Guests and One Smart Husband

Text message from Mark:

Bought mom a plane ticket today, so she'll be here for the wedding hope that is ok

Heck yeah, that's OK! She was at the legal wedding and we invited Mark's parents to the social ceremony.

Later I talked to Mark and he said he hoped it wasn't a problem. Heck no, not at all. We're happy she gets to come.

Good Man's family gets here Tuesday. We did a thorough cleaning of the house and I pointed out two spots he missed in the bathroom.

"Wow," he said with wonder in his voice, "you really are like drill sergeant." (He took to calling me that a few weeks ago.)

"Look, if this house is a mess, your mother won't think you're a bad husband. She'll think I'm a bad wife."

Good Man laughed, "This really is like military hierarchy! When I was in army, the drill instructor always got mad at us because if we did something bad, he got in trouble! It is same here!"

If Good Man married me because I'll make him live longer, I married him because he's whipsmart and he makes me laugh every single day.

I hope all the last minute planning is going well. How is the visa process going?

There isn't really any last-minute planning. I'm addressing some announcements, now, but I am sooooooo zen. FRIDAY will be the busy day, but you know, how worried can you be with 21 people? We've got the clothes, we've got the place, everyone's got hotels. The weather is supposed to be good (7 days out, which means nothing...) He already said yes, so he isn't going to say no. Ha ha! OK. No worries.

As for the visa, nothing's happened that I haven't written about here. Now that his biometrics are done, we're waiting on his EAD (employment) card.

Haha..Someone asked me if I was going to be nervous about the wedding. I explained that I was already married and she couldn't run off, so that there was not that much to be worried about. I am more worried about having to translate for JJ's father when other families members are busy. Not only does he speak with a thick Jeju dialect, but tends to speak rapid fire , no matter how much I ask him to slow down:)

It sounds like you guys have everything ready. Good luck to you! I am sure that it will all go as planned.
